Arrival Procedures

Dalaman airport is located within Dalaman TMA and utilizes RNAV for its arrival procedures. In addition, P-RNAV (Precision-Area Navigation, RNP1) capability is required. If unable, pilot must inform the controller so that aircraft can be given radar vectors to final. When contacting Dalaman APP for the first time, report callsign and inbound waypoint only.

Important things to keep in mind:

  • Always try to vacate via high speed exits
  • Do not stop on the high speed exists, enter parallel taxiway if necessary

STARs

Active Runway Configuration
North Config (RWY 01)
North Configuration uses the following STAR identifiers.
Type STARs
Standard

(default STARs)

1H
Alternate*

*only applicable to SONUP, NEXAM, ATSAL STARs

1D
South Config (RWY 19)
South Configuration uses the following STAR identifiers.
Type STARs
RNP approach 1Z
LOC approach 1Y

North Configuration (RWY 01)

Default RNAV arrivals for RWY 01 are 1H arrivals. There are also special RNAV STARs for RWY 01 and these have 1D designator. The western STAR procedures follow a tight path and there is no continuous downwind due to possibility of FIR incursion (Athinai FIR). The approach controller will clear you ILS-Z or LOC-Z approach at or before EVMEN (for SONUP 1H, NEXAM 1H, ATSAL 1H, KEKIK 1H, ERFES 1H, SOTIV 1H arrivals). However, eastern and 1D STARs do have downwind and pilots are required to continue flying downwind, maintaining heading after BS122. Approach controller will vector you for final. For ILS-Z or LOC-Z procedures, please refer to approach plates.

LTBS RWY 01 STARs

South Configuration (RWY 19)

Arrivals into RWY 19 are split into 2 due to different approach procedures. 1Z STARs are only for RNP-19 approach whereas 1Y STAR is only for LOC-19 approach.
